The Materials Behind the Makeover

For this project, Laszlo used a proven combination of materials to build a durable, waterproof barrier. He started by reinforcing the structure using chopped strand mat and woven roving. These fiberglass reinforcements provide excellent strength and impact resistance. To bind the layers together, the customer applied vinyl ester resin. Vinyl ester is highly recommended for pool repairs because it offers superior water resistance.

Finally, the surface was finished with a premium gelcoat. The last layer of gelcaot was mixed with a surface seal. This crucial top layer cures to a hard finish that resists UV damage and keeps the pool looking brand new.
