Polyester Resin

General Purpose Laminating Resin
General Purpose Laminating Resin This laminating resin is a promoted, thixed, unsaturated polyester resin intended for room temperature cure with Methyl Ethyl Ketone Peroxide (MEKP) catalyst. This resin is a low styrene content resin with a maximum of 35% styrene by weight. It is formulated to use in a wide range of fiberglass parts, including marine recreational vehicles. Its’ features include low viscosity, medium curve and fast wet out. Orthophthalic resin. MEKP catalyst sold separately.

MEKP (Hi Point 90)
MEKP (Hi Point 90) Hi-Point 90 is a clear, colorless solution of methyl ethyl ketone peroxide in a mixture of dimethyl phthalate and an ester plasticizer. Hi-Point 90 is principally used as an initiator or “catalyst” for the room temperature cure of unsaturated polyester and vinyl ester resins. It is also needed with all gel coats. It is typically used between 1.25% to 1.75% (1 2/3 ounce to 2 1/3 ounces per gallon). Resins that have Duratec in their name require a 2% mix ratio (2 2/3 ounces per gallon).

ISO Resin 75-200-319
ISO Resin 75-200-319 Premium-grade CoREZYN isopolyester resins are formulated specifically for their high corrosion resistance and physical properties. This versatile line is an excellent performer in a multitude of applications such as tooling and mold making, filament winding, steel tank overwrap, spray-up/lay-up and cured-in-place pipe. MEKP catalyst sold separately. The COR75 Series demonstrates good acid resistance, moderate solvent resistance, good temperature resistance, and high strength. It is generally chosen for mild to medium corrosive applications. Isophthalic resin.

S-249-A Surfboard Resin
S-249-A Surfboard Resin Silmar® brand SIL66 resins are the most widely used for surfboard manufacturing in the industry. In fact, they are sold throughout the world. These resins feature low color, excellent UV-resistance and remarkably consistent viscosity and gel times. MEKP catalyst sold separately.

S-250 Finish
S-250 Finish S-250 is the protective topcoat for S-249-A Surfboard Resin. It is a polyester sanding resin. MEKP catalyst sold separately.

S-40 Clear Casting Resin
S-40 Clear Casting Resin S-40 is a polyester resin specially formulated to produce transparent castings. It cures quickly and evenly at ambient temperatures, with excellent surface finish and high luster and sparkle. S-40 is an excellent choice to produce colored castings with artistic embedments. When pigment is used, the unique water-white characteristics of this resin preserve the color fidelity of the pigment and won't distort tonal values of the casting. Castings made from S-40 have good strength and are resistant to scratching and cracking. MEKP catalyst sold separately.

Surfacing Agent
Surfacing Agent This surfacing agent is a wax-containing clear liquid formulation designed for use with either gel coats or resins to reduce air sensitivity and inhibition.

Fire Retardant Laminating Resin
Fire Retardant Laminating Resin This laminating resin is a flame retardant resin that is formulated and complies with the test requirements of several agency flame specifications. This resin is prepromoted and thix for room temperature gel and cure with MEKP. Its’ features include low viscosity, non-draining and good wetting. MEKP catalyst sold separately.

Duratec Crystal Clear Hi-Gloss
Duratec Crystal Clear Hi-Gloss This easy to apply Hi gloss coating is used for composite plugs and patterns and wood product surfaces. It contains special blends of polyester polymers that create a tack-free, non-wax high gloss finish with chemical resistance, high impact strength and excellent color and light stability. MEKP catalyst sold separately.

Duratec White Hi-Gloss
Duratec White Hi-Gloss This easy to apply Hi gloss coating is used for composite plugs and patterns and wood product surfaces. It contains special blends of polyester polymers that create a tack-free, non-wax high gloss finish with chemical resistance, high impact strength and excellent color and light stability. MEKP catalyst sold separately.

Poly Fair F26
Poly Fair F26 Poly-Fair F26 is a waterproof, low density polyester-based fairing compound formulated for the marine environment. It has excellent adhesion to cured fiber-reinforced polyester and vinyl ester laminates. Poly-Fair F26 sands easily, gives a hard finish after a full cure, yet is not brittle and has good impact strength. MEKP catalyst sold separately.
