Clear Gelcoat

Duratec Clear Hi-Gloss Additive
Duratec Clear Hi-Gloss Additive Duratec Polyester Clear Hi-Gloss Additive is a superior product for gel coat repair and for enhancing tooling gel coat properties. When blended one to one with gel coats, the additive creates an air-cure, enamel like coating. No air-dry additive is required. When used for gelcoat repair, surfaces are restored to like-new condition. MEKP catalyst sold separately.

MEKP (Hi Point 90)
MEKP (Hi Point 90) Hi-Point 90 is a clear, colorless solution of methyl ethyl ketone peroxide in a mixture of dimethyl phthalate and an ester plasticizer. Hi-Point 90 is principally used as an initiator or “catalyst” for the room temperature cure of unsaturated polyester and vinyl ester resins. It is also needed with all gel coats. It is typically used between 1.25% to 1.75% (1 2/3 ounce to 2 1/3 ounces per gallon). Resins that have Duratec in their name require a 2% mix ratio (2 2/3 ounces per gallon).

Orange Tooling Gelcoat
Orange Tooling Gelcoat Tooling gelcoats are typically used as a surface of the inside of a mold. It creates an attractive and protective surface to fiberglass parts. It also, protects mold surfaces from damage. Isophthalic. Wax-free. MEKP catalyst is sold separately.

Surfacing Agent
Surfacing Agent This surfacing agent is a wax-containing clear liquid formulation designed for use with either gel coats or resins to reduce air sensitivity and inhibition.

Webbing Solution
Webbing Solution Webbing Solution is a clear liquid added to gel coat to obtain “spatter” or “cobweb” effects. It is mixed with a gel coat of one color, and sprayed onto a contrasting colored surface. Decorative effects produced by the webbing mixture will vary, and relate directly to techniques or gun adjustments. A fine hairline spider web pattern results from plenty of air and scanty material flow. Coarse and splotchy patterns are created by fuller material flow and decreased air volume.
